Christian Houborg on Manufacturing excellence: Sustaining momentum of a lean transformation

Speaking on the above topic is Mr Christian Houborg, Vice President, Service and Technical Operations, H. Lundbeck A/S, Denmark, at the Pharma Manufacturing World Asia 2012, part of a series of conferences in the 5th Annual BioPharma Asia Convention 2012.

Mr Houborg, MSc in Engineering, has for the past 5 years been responsible for the Lean transformation at Lundbeck. Before taking on the Lean challenge Christian was responsible for LundbeckÂ’s supply chain strategy and the management processes in the supply chain in his role as personal assistant to the Executive Vice President for Production. This combined with a history in consulting have been a great platform for launching a Lean transformation. Since 2009 Christian has combined the leadership of the Lean program with operational responsibilities for Service and Technical Operations and was in 2011 promoted to Vice President for Service & Technical Operations and Lean. Service and Technical Operations include the following areas: Facility Service and Site Management, Corporate Health, Safety & Environment, Corporate Engineering and Technical Services.

Mr Houborg will be addressing the following topics:
1. How Lundbeck encouraged and inspired the organization and gradually transformed it to a Lean culture
2. How leadership development was utilized to build the Lean culture and the right leadership behaviour
