Supera Farma and Merck partner up to sell generics in Brazil

Supera Farma Laboratorios, co-owned by Cristalia Produtos Quimicos Farmaceuticos and Eurofarma Laboratorios, teamed up with Merck & Co. to market, distribute and sell generic products in Brazil. Merck owns 51% and Cristalia and Eurofarma own 49% of the venture.

They will initially work on about 30 products and have their own sales force. Merck, Cristalia and Eurofarma will maintain their separate businesses in Brazil.

The venture is expected to be completely established later in 2012.
