In February 2013 over 250 delegates participated in the 3rd Annual Cell Culture World Congress at the Sofitel Bayerpost in Munich, Germany. This event focuses on the development and optimisation of cell culture bioproduction and explores the problem-points for each stage in the bio-production cycle. Attendees at this highly successful event were fortunate enough to hear this exciting presentation delivered by Jörg von Hagen (Head Process Development R&D, Merck Millipore), âDevelopment of novel chemically-defined media for CHO cell applications'.
This presentation focuses on:
· Development of a new chemically-defined, animal origin-free growth media with either equivalent or superior cell growth and production compared to several other commercially available media
· Results of multiple media lot testing have demonstrated impressive purity and consistency, for optimized bio-process control, especially important in the rapidly emerging biosimilars production market
· If complete including data of our recent development of this media for additional flexibility in process development
