This ebook gives a detailed summary of technology appraisals by NICE which recommends the use of new and existing medicines within the NHS in England and Wales. The recommendations are based on a system employed by NICE which looks at the strength of evidence of efficacy based on the research design and the quality and quantity of the available data.
The evidence in question can be based on two parameters:
- Clinical evidence, which measures how well the medicine or treatment works
- Economic evidence, which measures how well the medicine or treatment works in relation to how much it costs the NHS – does it provide value for money?
On 22nd-24th October, we will be hosting Evidence USA 2013, an event focused on evidence based healthcare for pharmaceutical products. For more information, or to book your place go to www.healthnetworkcommunications.com/evidenceus
I hope you enjoy this ebook and more importantly find it informative and thought provoking.
